I happened to chance upon a video on YouTube one day titled "World's Strictest Parents Singapore". Obviously I was intrigued by the title because HEY IT'S MY COUNTRY! Who knew, that 1 click kept me craving for more episodes!

Two so-called "unruly" teenagers are sent to live abroad with a strict host family for a week in an attempt to change their behaviour. During the week they receive an impact letter from their real parents with a list of issues they should try to fix. This show first broadcasted in Britain, but the one I'm about to show you is Australia's own localized version of it.

The episode on Singapore is on Zaine and Memphis. I hope you enjoy watching like I do! My thoughts are below the videos ;)

After watching the episode, I felt so stressed for them lah! Having grown up and spent my life studying in Singapore, I can tell you that studying here is really not easy AT ALL. I can hardly count the number of times I wanted to give up studying already.
Zaine and Memphis went RJC to "study", and I can see why they can't take it for even a day. Imagine suddenly you're expected to learn all the nerdy stuff you totally have no clue about for the entire day! I'll just sleep in class, to be honest. Also, even the code of conduct and attire requirements in normal neighbourhood schools alone are already so strict, what more the top Junior College in Singapore where the smartest teenagers in the country are.

But of course, I felt that they went a little overboard at times.. Maybe because they're angmoh, but no matter how much I hate school, I won't just run away half way like that and make others worry about me!

There's always a happy ending in shows that's the most heartwarming, so I'm glad that at least they have learnt something from the Chua family and tried to make a change in their lives. I don't know how they are doing for now (not a stalker lololol), but even though I don't know them, I hope they're doing well in their life!
