I smell love in the air, do you? The month of February is here, which means it's time for Chinese New Year and Valentine's Day! With so much happening, here's the big question - what gifts should I get?

February is undeniably the month of chocolates. You give it on Valentine's Day to the ones you love, and munch on it when you go for house visiting during CNY. So instead of munching on the same old chocolates every year, why not be more adventurous and try something new? Hey, we survived the apocalypse! It's time for a change!

Being a chocolate lover myself, I have a sweet tooth, so I eat all sorts of chocolates and love to try the different tastes. I know of some people who avoid eating chocolates (ikr, WHAT!?) because it tastes too plain by itself / they are allergic to the toppings (normally nuts) that come together.

When the lovely team behind Cocoa B approached me to try out their chocolates, you cannot image how merry I was! Cocoa B is a very unique chocolate concept where you can create your very own chocolate bars online. That's right - chocolates can now be custom-made, guys. This is good news to people like me who like to experiment with new stuff, and also for my picky friends!

Here's how it works:

1. Choose your choice of chocolate bar
2. Select your toppings from 5 categories
3. Make payment and your creations will be delivered / mailed to you

Since Valentine's Day is approaching, they have an extra Valentine's special topping section!

For my creation, I call it the Jongified for obvious reasons. I decided to stay safe and selected Milk Chocolate + Hazelnuts + Gummi Bears + Marshmallows + Sprinkles (balls)!

It turned out a little too sweet though (too much candy stuff), but still tasted awesome! I was hesitant on choosing the more exotic flavours at first as I was afraid that it would turn out weird, but after reading the reviews from the others, I regretted! It looks reallyyyyy good, I kid you not.

Note to self: Just go for it the next time!

I received an extra bar of chocolate (thank you for being so nice, Cocoa B ;') ), called Bacon Nuts. It is a really popular creation, the best seller! It is the combination of Milk Chocolate + Bacon Bits + Hazelnuts + Almond.

Needless to say, this was my favourite creation out of the 2! Nom nom nom!

Though all my wardrobes are bursting with clothes already, I am in desperate crave for more!

Anyway, today I am going to introduce to you one of my favourite shops ever!!!

I am not sure whether y'all know about this, but I discovered a lot of ABC stores located at neighbourhood places. They sell almost everything from household items to snacks to shampoos etc, claiming that they're selling it at the lowest of prices in Singapore. Yeah, my eyes light up whenever I see them! I love munching on snacks, so that's where I normally get my "stocks" from.

I went to the one near Chong Boon Market and Food Centre just now. They claimed to be having a "moving out sale" (but found out later that it was a marketing gimmick), so here are the hauls that I grabbed.

I is a happy girl! ヽ(;▽;)ノ
It is that time of the year to groom ourselves and look our very best, since the Chinese New Year is approaching! Looking good is important when visiting relatives and friends you haven’t met in a long time. In this New Year, I am proud to announce that Headlines Hairdressing is now the official hair sponsor for my manes! ♡^▽^♡

Located at China Square Central, cosplay and anime lovers should be familiar with this place since there are so many toy shops around. The retail oasis is located within the bustling CBD, only a short walking distance from Chinatown MRT station. It is the best place to give your hair a fix this CNY; you can do your CNY goodies shopping in Chinatown before or after your hair appointment since it’s so near! Talk about convenient!

Once you enter the building, it is easy to spot Headlines Hairdressing amongst the toy shops. If you didn’t know, Headlines Hairdressing is the brainchild of Gary Lee, one of Singapore’s most renowned hairstylists! I guess that was why I felt so comfortable stepping in - I know that I will feel and look confident when I step out later on.

Everyone there was warm and welcoming! I noticed that they use a whole range of Mucota products. I did an advertorial for Mucota before (http://iisjong.blogspot.sg/2012/04/want-to-be-one-step-closer-to-chio-hair.html), so that made me feel even safer putting my hair in their care!

My hairstylist was Max, and he is definitely the person to look for! With so many hair colours and styles to choose from this season, I was so spoilt for choice and couldn't make up my mind. Thankfully, I consulted (and kind of debated) with Max and Gary about what to do about my cmi (cannot make it) hair beforehand. They examined the condition and colour of my hair before recommending what was suitable for me. For example, I wanted to perm my hair, but they suggested otherwise as my hair was not in a good condition to do so.

I think this is very important – a hairstylist’s job is to transform a customer’s locks into healthy, shiny hair. They should not be baselessly recommending services just to milk extra money from their customers. In fact, they gave and showed me various examples of what they visualized would look good while working on my problems and concerns!

To top off the fantastic service, Max lent me an iPad to watch shows on to cure my boredom. Daebak (Y)! This is the Super Idol Top 10 Finalists episode btw, in case you’re curious.

And I present to you... My atrocious hair before =.= Please clear this horror image of me away from your mind. I've wanted to hit the salon for the looooooooooongest time, so I thank all the Gods there are for bestowing such a fantastic place for me! ┗(^0^)┓

Being the *ahem* unique girl that I am *ahem*, I wanted a look that was different from others. Max was also seeking the same thing - a whole new transformation. After almost an hour long of discussions, he decided to experiment with the funky colours Purple and Midnight Blue since I was so fickle minded. Off we go!

Max managed to handle my hair with care despite it being crazily dry and tangled! I also got to play around with another staff whom I respect a lot. He was really talkative and cheeky despite being hearing impaired. Despite his disabilities, he was such a funny guy to be around with! Every time he swings by, I always anticipate what he was going to do next.

And here are the results after sitting on the chair for nearly 5 hours, getting my hair done. Drum rolls please! .........................................................

TA-DAH! MY HAIR CHIO OR NOT??????????? (((o(*゚▽゚*)o)))

I am IN LOVE; I've always wanted something colourful! Didn't dare to do it previously as I fear that I will look ridiculous. BUT LOOKIE!!! I really did not expect Max to add in so many colours and make it look gorgeous as the same time, omg! (o;TωT)o

He is really creative and attentive in the small details. As I was still attending school, the loud colours are hidden underneath my mocha-coloured hair. When I want to show them off, I can just put up my hair!

I also did a hair treatment! Max gave me a lot of hair tips like the need of applying hair masks often, for example. Realized that I’ve been using the wrong type of shampoo too. ;/

More pictures for you green-eyed monsters! Jealous right? ;P

I swear, Max is super duper talented can!? He did all sorts of pretty hairstyles on me that I was so ashamed to call myself a girl.

It looks good when curled! I was taught how to curl my hair with a hair straightener, hahaha.

With the man himself! For some reason, he resembles Alien Huang/Huang Hong Sheng/Xiao Gui, doesn’t he!?

Good news for you guys! When you visit Headlines Hairdressing,

We make many choices in life, be it big or small, every day of our lives. That one decision has got the power to make or break our future. Humans create and perpetuate a competitive struggle to control choice.

I am paying the price for the wrong choices that I have made in life. Sometimes I wish I didn't listen and blindly follow what others say, and go for a route that may be unconventional, but at least I feel comfortable with. I try fitting in with everyone else in the society, I try to be nice, but it's tiring and I am suffering.

I am starting to feel that my creativity juices are being suppressed. I feel so soulless doing the same repetitive things everyday. I've struggled for way too long. I want to triumph over all the challenges lying ahead of me, stomp them so badly, but it's like no matter how hard I try, they still exist. How do I stop being so miserable? I have been looking at issues from a positive perspective. Maybe too positive for my own good, that's why I am feeling like this now. How do I continue doing something that I can't? I keep running, but there's no end.

Sometimes I wish for my heart to give me my true feelings all the time. It's giving me heartbreaks and headaches. Do I know myself? I am hitting 20 years old soon, but it seems like I still can't differentiate what choices would be beneficial for me. But then again, at least even with my bad choices, I am way luckier than some others. But I still feel like a big fat failure.

What is right and what is wrong? What should I do? What can I do? Where should I go from here? I wish someone could give me at least a hint. It's the same problems all over again, like a cycle that never halts. Or maybe I'm just magnifying everything.

This blog post doesn't make any sense at all. Random, random thoughts. But here's the only place I could go to.
Calling all shoe lovers! Want to get the latest Fall Fashions for less? Good news - the Payless Fall Collection has arrived in Singapore! ;D

I absolutely LOVE shopping at Payless Shoesource because it feels like a walk-in shoedrobe! In fact, my favourite pair of heels is this gorgeous pair of black wedges that I bought last year from the brand Brash.

My mum was the one who first introduced the Payless store to me actually. She was captured by the wide variety of shoes to choose from. Most importantly, she was intrigued by the the layout and the way the shoes are presented. It gave a relaxed and uninhibited feel of the store.

All the available sizes and designs are displayed on the shelves, so you can try them out to your heart's content, without the need to wait for retail staff to retrieve the shoes of your choice from the storeroom. Service staff are friendly and available to serve you whenever you need them as well!

This is a store for people of all ages! From kids.............

......... To men...............

......... And to women!

Just bring your whole family down only, one store fits all, hahaha.

If you are looking to complete a look, of course you do not stop only at shoes! There are bags and accessories to choose from as well. Everyone needs to *bling bling* once in awhile.

Since the Chinese New Year is just round the corner, I picked out some shoes that I thought would go well with my outfits. I was so spoilt for choice, and I only needed to choose 1! How I wish that I could bring all of these pretty little things home *.*

Any one caught your eye?

I chose the fringe shoes (Cognac Ryan) from my favourite brand Brash in the end. Gonna do a lot of walking and house-visiting during CNY, so I want something comfortable and easy to wear.

Well, like I've mentioned... Chinese New Year is here again. Thanks to Payless Shoesource, they have prepared a $10 voucher for 5 lucky winners! Right in time for CNY shopping. ;)

1) Comment on this blog post, the name of the store mentioned.

Here are some shoes from the latest collection to get yourself excited: http://microwire.info/1873/fall-winter-fashion-payless/
Wore my new pretty sweater to school on Tuesday. Got quite a lot of compliments for it! Now, I am not really big on leopard prints, but I love the details on the sleeves!

Got this from Gangnam Station in Seoul, South Korea. That place is shopping heaven; so many cheap and nice finds! Managed to spot and pick this out amongst the many clothes around. Ferlyn from SKarf, together with their stylist, loved it too! See, my fashion sense is not that bad right, hahahaha. They played a part in helping me choose the colour!

Not bad Mango Pomelo dessert. A new find at the back of AMK's Jubilee Sq, called HongKong Desserts. What's with mango desserts, why do they all taste so fantastic!?

There's a Cotton On X Rubi X Typo sale section at the basement on AMK Hub! They always have such sales and I am loving it. This time there's quite a few quirky finds! Headphones are only going at $5, original price is $20+!?

I also found this Whoopee cushion going at only $2. Great for a cheap April Fools' joke! *farts*

Mentioned about this film camera from Typo on Twitter, and many have asked about this. So here you go!

Original store selling price was almost $25? I got this at only $2, what a steal! I remember using such a film camera when I was in Primary School. Got it as a birthday present I think. This one is special; there's a frame to it! I can't wait to start exploring and developing pictures, wonder how it'll turn out. Don't worry, I'll share the pictures here. ;)

Maybe I should start naming my blog: "iisjong - the Singapore cheap and good finds blog".
If you haven't read my previous entries :

Went for my 2nd visit to DRx Clinic on the 11th of January 2013! I realized that I've been pronouncing DRx incorrectly. I kept saying "Doctor-X", when it's actually "D-R-X". So embarrassing! *nervous laugh*

Replenished some of the products that I've used up, namely the Toner, Acne Spot Lotion, Blemish Care Cleanser and Spironolactone medicine.

If you haven't seen my vlog review of all the products I got :

The consultation with Dr David Ng this time was more of a review session. Dr David took out a file containing my information and pictures the consultant took of me on my previous visit to compare my condition then and before. Similar to my first visit, there was a consultant in the room with me listening to the conversation between Dr David and I!

Everything was normal since the last visit; no allergies or weird syndromes happening to me. I was pleased to hear that my condition improved despite some new pimples popping out (due to the monthly woman thingy). Was told to go for facial, cut down on medicine intake, and to use the same products continuously for now.

Here's a comparison of my skin condition that I took before (30 November 2012) and recently (11 January 2013). No make up no Photoshop :

Though my skin is not that "perfect" yet, improvements can be seen right! Skin is not so clogged up. Even my family and friends noticed some difference. They say "beautiful skin is a blank canvas for beautiful make up". I really detest putting on make up because no matter what I put on my skin, it still looks horrible on me. So I aim to achieve being able to put on "paint" nicely on my skin in the future!

Had my picture taken again before I left the clinic. I think it's a necessity for everyone to take photos with every visit so that their Doctor can keep track on improvements. Oh, and by the way! I will be pampering myself with a facial treatment tomorrow at the The DRx Medispa. I really cannot wait for it! Will update you all about my experience. ;D

Do you enjoy mixing and creating your own music? If your answer is "yes", you MUST check out the Kinder Bueno Mashine!

On the 4th and 5th of January, I headed down to Cineleisure Orchard for the Kinder Bueno "Yours to Play" Day 1 and Day 2 event. Despite the rain, many curious onlookers glanced over to peek at what was going on at the booth, while the adventurous ones got down to getting their hands going on the mashine!

Day 3 and Day 4 will be held at Plaza Singapura this coming Friday and Saturday. To join the events, check it out here: https://www.facebook.com/KinderBuenoSG/events

Let me prepare you on your journey to start mashing!

As we all know, the secret to Kinder Bueno's tasty, carefree indulgence is in its harmonious mash-up of crisp and cream. I salivate just by the thought of it! *.* Now with the the Kinder Bueno Mashine, ANYONE can create their own aural pleasure by blending their own beats!

Psst...... Prove that you have the skillz and you could be the lucky winner walking away with a limited edition Kinder Bueno 13" MacBook Pro and a Native Instruments Machine! I WANT!

If you're worried about how to get started, fret not! DJ Zu Shan from The Butter Factory will be there to show you the ropes to get you mashing.

To be honest, trying to create a mash up is equivalent to learning a new instrument / Mathematical logarithms for the first time, at least to an amateur first timer to DJ-ing like myself. Initially when I watched DJ Zu Shan doing his thing from afar, I thought that there was no kick to it. I believed that I could definitely create something awesome (also due to having some musical background), and the people at Kinder Bueno can just pass me the MacBook Pro already.

But when it was my turn.......... I was lost.

Creating an "eargasm" relationship between the base/exponential/log (pardon me, haven't touched Math in a long time) Crunch and the Cream requires so much more than it seems. It is not just random hitting of any button (like I did), praying that a miracle will happen and you become an instant musical genius.

You might find the Play Mashine, a Kinder Beuno Facebook app, beneficial to you. This is the easy-peasy version of what to expect. If you think you're too good for this, congratulations! Chances are, you are ready to roll on the real Kinder Bueno Mashine!

Get yourself recorded when you're ready to hit the beats, and you'll be rewarded with a FREE Kinder Bueno! Sounds like a good deal, no?

Excited already? ;D Don't say I never share - here are some videos you can watch before giving the Kinder Bueno Mashine a go. Trust me, they are super beneficial!
