Here's what a lot of you have been waiting for - skin updates!

Y'all know that I only say the real stuff. In this short span of 2 months, my skin showed leap of improvements after doing the ATP-38 treatments at The Spa-Lon. I dare claim that the results are better and faster as compared to the many beauty centres I've frequented. The best thing? My face seems to be getting smaller as there's a slight slimming function! *.*

I won't say much and let the pictures prove to you. Note that I did not edit any of the pictures AT ALL, not even the lighting this time!

Notice the reduction in scars and smoother skin? It is definitely more radiant than ever, at least in the last 10 years of my life. :') You can't exactly see it, but my pores are smaller! My beautician Irene also has lesser pimples to squeeze out these days. I clearly remember the first time I visited; she was exhausted from spending what seemed like forever concentrating and picking out the disgusting stuff hidden underneath my skin!

Nowadays, I can put on my CC Cream + Concealer + Foundation + Loose Powder all together, yet my skin doesn't get cakey at all for the next few hours! Prior to the treatments, just CC Cream ALONE turned my skin into a cakey mess in an hour tops. This is my personal true story!

I (and a whole bunch of people actually, heh) am awed by my own skin whenever I look into the mirror because it improves by the day. Don't know if you've noticed, but I don't wear a mask out to cover my makeup-less face anymore. I am more confident now.

If you think I'm bragging, head over to The Spa-Lon's Facebook page, go witness the success stories of others for yourself. Having clear and flawless-looking skin is everyone's desire. It is the best foundation any girl could ask for. I'm working towards it!

The Spa-Lon is currently having a promotion! Many of their treatments are going at only $99 trial price!? Call up The Spa-Lon branch nearest to you for more information!

Been almost 2 months, I'm at my 11th Class 3 (manual) practical driving lesson already!

As mentioned in the previous post, this is the smartphone which learners like me use to sign in and out. Some instructors might not use it though. I know because I've been taught by 5 different instructors already!

2 of them are the ones fixed at Serangoon, 2 are from the Kovan office who temporarily took over because my instructor was ill, and 1 time when I went to Buangkok.

I found myself fond of the idea of getting taught by different instructors. There's an interesting mix of people! The super relax one, the one who whispers (had to ask him to repeat wdvr he said), the overly enthusiastic one, the strict one, the fun one. But at the end of the day, they're nice people with over 10 years of teaching experience. They answered my numerous queries and shared some of their personal stories.

Also mentioned in the previous post, this is the Training Record Book for attendance record and training content. For myself, it also includes the PDL, or the Provisional Driving Licence which allows me to learn to drive a Class 3 vehicle until a certain date.

This book records my progression so far. There are 3 modules in total that I'll have to complete; almost done with Module One!

My thoughts on driving up till now? Nerve wrecking. I've driven on actual roads around Punggol and Ubi, and from the circuit back to Serangoon. Although I've been praised for being a fast learner, I still face problems with my biting point and engine STILL stalls every lesson.

Booking of lesson online is also a headache. I once forgot to book my lessons for May! Online booking is open every 22nd of the month, from 6pm onwards. If you're late, chances are all the slots have been taken up. In that case, report to offices at Ubi or Kovan and request for them to put you on the waiting list. I requested for any time, any date, at any location. As long as someone cancels their lesson, they'll ring me! Be prepared to receive a call as early as at 8.30am though.

Each learner can cancel their lessons for free, up to 18 times. Subsequent cancellations are chargeable at $5.35 per lesson.

For the fees, here's how much I've paid so far learning at CDC:

Class 3 Enrollment Fees for Practical & Theory - $160.50
Provisional Driving Licence - $25
Practical Driving Lessons (inclusive GST & miscellaneous charge) - $70.62 x 7 (non-peak hours) + $79.18 x 4 (peak hours)
Pre-Booking of Future Practical Driving Lessons - $70.62 x 15

This is about all that I can remember, easily amount up $2k already. From old forum threads I've read, the fees seem to have went up as if the prices of COE isn't high enough. Some might prefer choosing private instructors that are less costly. I've been told that there won't be any more private driving instructors after this generation of them retire!
I admit - it's a chore to maintain smooth and good-looking hair. People ask me what's the secret to my shiny hair, despite going through the damage of having so many chemicals touch it. I say, NOBODY is born with the perfect hair, you have to work hard for what you want. That is why owning good hair care products is the answer!

You got to admit that our manes are partly what boosts our self-confidence. Even if you're wearing the most gorgeous outfit, you won't look complete without the fabulous-looking hair. Recently, I've started to pay more attention on that part by using the Dr. Qu line of hair care products! Wanted to go for a more organic alternative for the longest time.

Manufactured in Singapore, Dr. Qu is a cult Asian skincare brand that is highly sought after in countries like Taiwan, Hong Kong, China, Japan, Korea, Thailand and USA. Its products have undergone stringent checks and have received the stamp of approval from Japanese and American authorities, guaranteeing it as a safe product of quality. It's call to fame is its ability to heal skin from problems caused by Demodex (a hair follicle mite) like acne rosacea, eczema, other skin irritations, fungal diseases and hair loss. In a survey conducted, it was found that 97.68% of adult males and female have Demodex!? :O

Dr. Qu Hairlth Wash

Dr. Qu's line of herbal-based skincare products is infused with Demodicidin, a unique formulation of scientific technology and traditional Chinese medicine, designed to stop Demodex and prevent them from causing damage to the skin. The Dr. Qu skincare range provides nourishment to the skin and hair while restoring it to its original colour and natural beauty. It also helps to slow down the skin cell aging process. Many who have tried Dr. Qu's products now swear by it as their go-to brand to help with their skin/hair!

The Dr. Qu Hairlth Wash is herbal based and enriched with nutrients to enhance hair and scalp metabolism, keeping it healthy. It also contains effective anti-dandruff properties and hair conditioner. It is said to promote metabolism, strengthens immunity, prevent disease and also prolongs lifespan!

If you have scalp that are oily like mine, you can use it more often!

The lather is not the foamy type with bubbles and all that stuff I'd like. However, I have to say that I've got an itchy scalp that annoys the hell out of me and this shampoo did aid in controlling the itch! My dandruff also showed significantly reduction. I like the fact that it's herbal, which also translates to lesser artificial chemical ingredients and more natural ones!

Dr. Qu Hairlth Conditioner

I cannot stress enough how important a conditioner plays in smooth-looking hair! Conditioners really do wonders upon application, tried and tested myself. I was away on holiday recently, and one of the hotels I stayed in didn't provide hair conditioners! The next few days, the ends of my hair looked like it was deprived of moisture like a dry land or something. I felt horrible going out with my hair like that!

Natural herbal based conditioning product, the hairlth conditioner is designed to provide lasting protection and vital hydration to hair on a day to day basis. It is engineered to give you maximum protection against damage from UV radiation, heat, chemical treatments and daily styling, through quick and easy application.

A pump or two is enough to provide the hydration for my hair. Apply and lather generously on the wet hair ends. The trick is the longer you leave it on, the more optimal the results!

The Dr Qu Hairlth Conditioner actively replenishes the vitality and health of hair and consistently prevents hair loss (especially Demodex related), breakage and split ends. By nourishing both hair and follicles with a natural international award winning Demodicin formula, Dr Qu Hairlth Conditioner not only prevents hinders the growth of Demodex, but also reinforces and strengthens the structure and roots of your hair, to improve quality and manageability and provides extra shine and gloss to your daily look.

Dr. Qu's products are retailing online, as well as Yue Hwa Emporium and Strangelets (Yong Siak Street).

Japanese health food giant, Yakult Health Food is finally making its foray into Singapore and the regional market! Best known for their familiar line of Yakult probiotic milk drinks that I grew up with, naturally I look forward to growing old with their health foods. After many years of huge success in Japan, its complete range of health food is finally launched at Guardian Pharmacies in Singapore! I was invited to their debut launch at Chinatown Point by AT Marketing Consultancy (www.atmc.com.sg)!

I found boxes after boxes of their star products containing kale being displayed. Yakult contract farmers grow kale in their own farms from the Kunisaki Peninsula, Oita-Ken, Kyushu. There are absolutely no agrochemical/chemical fertilizers or pest control used in their soil! Only fully natural ripened compost is used as fertilizers.

There are also no artificial colouring/flavouring/preservative used in their products!

I saw the aunties sitting beside me bought so many of the Yakult Health Food products. I didn't mean to, but I overheard their conversation; though the products were relatively new in the Singapore market, the aunties are long-time faithful customers of Yakult. That is exactly why they put so much of their faith in it!

There was a photo gallery to improve the public's awareness about their products, and also to witness what goes on in the cultivation process. The contract farmers put a lot of time and effort into cultivation, even removing pests by hand!

The event kick-started off with a Japanese Drum Performance. You should've been there; I loved their enthusiasm!
All of us were honoured listening to speeches by Abeille D’or (S) Pte Ltd's General Manager, Miss Pee Hwee Kim, Guardian's Chief Operating Officer, Miss Sarah Ann Boyd, as well as the Guest of Honour, Hideaki Maruyama San, President of Yakult Health Foods Japan!

Today, many people lead hectic lifestyles with the habit of eating out and not consuming enough greens, which are essential in our diets *hand up* guilty as charged.......

With that, Yakult introduced the Maroyaka Kale Powder which are packaged in stick sachets! Each box contains 30 satchets, good to last for a month. Kale is fast becoming a highly sought-after health food in recent years. It is one of the healthiest vegetables you can find; it is high in calcium and contains β-carotene.

Yakult Health Foods' Maroyaka Kale offers consumers the goodness and benefits of genuine, premium kale, readily available for consumption. It packs a punch with up to β-carotene and of Vitamin K, a powerful antioxidant that reduces overall risk of developing cancer. It boasts high concentrations of antioxidants Vitamins A, C and phytonutrients too. Vitamin K is also necessary for a wide variety of bodily functions, including normal blood clotting and bone health.

Each serving of the Maroyaka Kale is able to provide you the necessary nutrients to supplement your daily greens intake. You can consume it in many ways - dissolve it in cold water or milk, eat it with yoghurt, or even sprinkle it on your ice cream!

The highly concentrated kale powder retains the rich, delicious flavour and mild taste of kale. If you want to go for the full taste, drink it with cold water like I did. If you don't fancy the taste of vegetables so much, then I suggest you might want to try another way which you feel more comfortable with!

Maroyaka Kale is on shelves at Guardian Pharmacy retailing at the introductory price of $79.90 from now till 30th September 2014! You can also find the complete range of Yakult Health Foods there.

By the way Abeille d'Or, sole distributor of Yakult Health Foods, will be having a Colon Health Talk Seminar this Saturday 19 April! Dr. Haresh Kumar Kantilal (Ph.D Medical Science, M.Sc. Microbiology. A Medical Microbiologist and Speaker in Nutrition) will be at the seminar as a speaker.

Date: 19 April 2014 (Saturday)
Time: 2.00pm
Venue: 3 Coleman Street #03-14 Peninsular Shopping Centre Singapore (179804)

Seminar fee is $10 per ticket, fully redeemable for Yakult Health Food products during the seminar!

Knock knock blogging world, still remember me? Oh, and you're supposed to reply "who's there?"

I know I know, very lame (with legs). Not many personal posts here lately. Assumed that I'd have all the freedom I craved for as soon as my exams were over, but I'm at this stage in life where the word "busy" just doesn't leave me. Got back from an overseas trip recently and school started today, then there's procrastination and distracting videos...

Started PR lessons in school this semester which I've been looking forward to since the start! Quite insightful so far, I am eager to learn more because I deal with so many PR companies on a daily basis. Though it may be tough for me since PR is the face of the company, I think I might have a tad interest in venturing into this field after all.

Also been getting a lot of "omg you look so different" as I'm currently exploring the type of styles I should go for (but no money to buy more clothes). If you're wondering, my hair in the picture was styled by Ryo from Cleo Hair & Make! Yup new hair colour again, you should really catch up on my latest updates on Instagram where I'm quite the addict (http://instagram.com/iisjong).

There are too much going on in my head and I think too excessively for my own good. But life is alright thus far.
The flagship outlet of District 10 Bar & Restaurant located at UE Square has a new sleek and spruced up look after having underwent a physical revamp! It offers a versatile range of options for hosting all types of events ranging from intimate celebrations, corporate get-togethers to larger networking parties. District 10 officially opened on September 2009, with two more outlets at Star Vista as well as Clarke Quay.

All three outlets offer in concept, with the flagship store offering an extensive gourmet menu and bar bites. The Italian restaurant is lead by Chef Luca who boasts of an extensive culinary expertise and wealth of experience under his belt.

The restaurant boasts of more than 80 different wines. Some of them include prestigious labels from Europe such as Antinori and Tenuta!

The indoor Main Dining Room boasts of a sleeker bar, main dining hall and private dining room. It presents a sizeable area for a larger group size with a more gourmet menu.

If you're looking for a private dining room for your family or a function, the Antinori Private Dining Room was designed to allow for conviviality in a more private setting. It is perfect for up to 12 people, with tasteful glimpses of the Antinori observed along the walls lined with framed wine labels. It is a great way to showcase the quality of the food and wine served at District 10!

The private dining room is complemented by a handcrafted chandelier made in Italy, designer chairs as well as an outdoor seating area. The room also offers a customised menu curated by Chef Luca according to budget and and specific requests.

As for the Al Fresco area, it appeals more to diners who are seeking for a more outdoor and casual ambiance. I feel that it's perfect for casual networking with its chilled outdoor vibe with bar bites and great cocktails. Kids can even enjoy the bouncy castle on weekends!

I had the opportunity to sample a list of dishes for their brunch at UE Square.

Get your glow with the health booster drink Antioxidant - Peach, Green Apple, Mango & Strawberry ($13++). It is made from whole blends of fresh fruits and purées.

Pandan-Coconut Pancake with Gula Melaka Syrup ($9++). This was my favourite out of all the dishes that I've tried. Very unique and of local style. I was surprised that it tastes great by its own actually, but your day can be sweetened up with the syrup as well. Great for the sweet tooth!

If you'd like something savoury, you could try the District 10 Eggs Benedict ($16++). It consists of Poached Eggs on Toasted Muffin with Sautéed Spinach, Smoked Salmon & Hollandaise Sauce.

Look at dat egg flow! *.* If you're looking for the perfect runny egg, you have a contender right here.

For those who prefer something familiar, you could go for the Hoegaarden Battered Fish & Chips ($22++). It is served with Mint Mushy Peas & Tartare Sauce.

For something more Italian, you could go for the Pizza with Portobello Mushrooms ($26++). The overwhelming smell of Tomato Sauce & Truffle Oil is bound to capture the attention from the next table!

The colour purple is ridiculously pretty, but belong to one of those underrated colours. I personally believe that the purple hue produces a healthy glow on the skin that complements a majority of us. You can't really go wrong with it.

After the successful attempt of the different shades of purple experiment by Ryo previously, we decided to give purple a try again after it caught the attention of many.

I'm not sure if any of you remember, but my hair colour before we started on the change was orangey-yellow. I had to undergo bleaching to fade away the bright colour first. Both Ryo and I didn't know what to expect! We were worried that the colour wouldn't come out as every hair dye process is sort of unpredictable, especially more when we're toning down such a loud colour.

Fortunately for us, the colour did show after hours of sitting and having my buttocks numbed ;P! Could see Ryo was thrilled though slightly tired as well. There were still slight tints of orange here and there though, but those were barely unnoticeable. I think my hair gave way to bleaching this time and became somewhat damaged... But no worries! It was rescued with CLEO's legendary hair treatment.

I also did my part for the after-care treatment by slapping on hair mask whenever I wash my hair. HAIR MASKS ARE SO UNDERRATED TOO!? I always tell my friends to try them out because the magic those things do are wondrous!

The other time I visited, I spotted someone in the midst of doing digital perm! In case you're wondering, yup CLEO Hair & Make does offer many different services for hair and even makeup! I've been asked too many times about the charges. You can find their latest update for prices here.
