Does the name Julie's ring a bell in your head? Well it should, because it's the household name of the biscuit brand you see often that's savoured by generations.

Perfect Food Manufacturing (PFM) has produced more than 100 confectioneries under the Julie’s brand name, ever since it was founded in 1981. Many may not be aware of this, but Julie's is actually a Malaysian brand! Over the years, the company has grown to become Malaysia’s third largest brand of biscuits and is the nation’s largest exporter of cookies.

Julie’s products are currently being sold in 70 countries across South East Asia, Asia Pacific, Africa, America and the Middle East! That's quite a feat! #AsianPride

I had the pleasure of visiting one of Julie's factories in Alor Gajah, Malacca.

Their most popular Peanut Butter Sandwich biscuit, also the one I love most! *.*

They have a little cafe within their factory. Here is where interactions with the staff at Julie's started. I was overwhelmed with their kind hospitality, and it was heartwarming to see them close-knitted like a family. Knowing that there were guests arriving, they were well-prepared and not stingy with the treat to a variety of delicious local delicacies!

Stepping inside, I would describe the place as a snack-lover's heaven. Guests were welcomed with shelves after shelves of different types of Julie's biscuits. And there's more! These are just some of what they produce.

Meet Martin, the Director of Perfect Food Manufacturing.

I watched as he talked about Julie's growth into a global confectioner and one of Asia's leading brands. You could see the undying passion flaming in this eyes as he spoke. He spoke of many interesting stories about Julie's, like how they were the first confectioner to individually wrap biscuits so that customers would not have to look for containers to store the biscuits after opening a box, some 20 years ago.

With the constant pushing for improvements, it's no wonder their hands are full with bags of awards year after year. Not that they're complaining.

Just last year, Julie's introduced its One Bite’s range of biscuits in a cup that earned the company the Industry Excellence Award (Food Industries) at the fifth Asean-BAC Malaysia Business Awards (MBA)!

Together with its 30-year history as one of Malaysia’s favourite biscuits, Perfect Food Manufacturing has also earned a number of international management and food safety certifications including the ISO 9001:2008, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), HACCP (Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Point), and OHSAS (Occupational Health & Safety Management System) certifications.

I had briefly studied about quality management before, therefore I was aware of how difficult it was to achieve such high standards. Because of the certifications, the company was successfully allowed to export Julie’s products to well regulated markets like Japan, Europe and the United States.

How were such heavenly-tasting biscuits produced? I stepped into their production area (boy, was it hot in there. Huge respect to all the workers!) all safely covered, as you can see in the picture above, to take a look.

Ta-dah~ Final product. Eating it straight after it was packed was SHIOK! I could feel the warmth and freshness as my teeth sinked into the biscuit. With every bite, it left me begging for more. Foodgasm at it's best!

It was nice to see Perfect Food Manufacturing committed to deliver high quality products with flavours that appeal to customers in diverse markets. They aim to keep introducing innovative products that addresses to customer's needs. In short, every biscuit is baked with love.
