It was my birthday a couple of weeks ago, and the good folks at Floral Garage Singapore surprised me with a gorgeous bouquet of flowers! I posted a few pictures on my social media accounts that day and they were exceptionally well received.

Thank you, Floral Garage Singapore for taking the effort in picking each of the beautiful blooms and for the personal hand-written letter! Although they did not pre-inform me about what I would be receiving, I was amazed that they had a few stalks of lavender included in the bouquet.

Don’t get me wrong, I loved every single one of the flowers that was presented. However, it seemed as though Floral Garage Singapore could read my mind - yes, my favourite flower is the lavender! Thanks to the fresh flowers, my room smelled heavenly for the next few days, hahaha. *.*

I know what you’re thinking: sure bo? Are they really that great as claimed!?

Well… In my opinion, yes, they are!

I made a simple little comparison between Floral Garage Singapore and other online florists. Since I’ve seen and checked their flowers with my own two eyes, Floral Garage Singapore definitely passes in terms of the quality check!

Pricing wise, I chose to compare similar bouquets from other online florists and divided the total cost with the number of flowers. To my surprise, they do uphold their word for being one of the most affordable florists around.

Furthermore, their delivery charge is only $10! Self-collection is available as well.

En Grill & Bar has recently refreshed its menu! For those who are still unaware, the En Group is a pioneer in introducing Singapore's first Japanese dining bar to Mohamed Sultan Road.

Besides the medley of authentic and traditional Japanese dishes served with a modern twist, En Grill & Bar prides themselves with serving Japan's no. 1 award winning and high-quality Wagyu, the Motobu Wagyu beef. Don't play play - the Motobu Wagyu is said to be fattier than regular Wagyu! I learnt that they only serve grades A4 or A5 Motobu Wagyu that's directly imported from the Yanbaru ranch in Okinawa.

En Grill & Bar is just one of the 800+ merchants offering Buy One Get One Free offers on the Entertainer Singapore app. Currently, diners can enjoy three offers at En Grill & Bar:

1) One main menu item for one main menu item
2) Two tapas for two tapas
3) One assorted grilled skewer platter for one assorted grilled skewer platter

I checked out some of En Grill & Bar's offerings!

En Grill & Bar is perfect for a chill night out, with a variety of Japanese cocktail and mocktail selections to headache over.

I had a little too many with the Flamingo Flame, Calpis Sour (Sochu Cocktail), Orange Crush and Cranberry Sour (Sochu Cocktail). Personally, I am an amateur when it comes to alcoholic drinks... Thus, it was obvious that I preferred the ones without the sochu cocktail.

One Japanese tapas worth a try is the flavourful Tako Carpaccio ($12). Sliced octopus is topped with salmon roe and drizzle of aromatic yuzu and truffle oil. This unique combination is not only Instagram-worthy but hits the right notes altogether!

singapore blogger en grill and bar entertainer app
Another crowd favourite, the juicy Wagyu Mini Burger ($16) uses hand-ground Motobu Wagyu patty, together with red wine sauce that complements the beef.

The Garlic Gambas ($16) features pan-fried shrimp with creamy butter sauce. I am a sucker for prawns; needless to say, this final sinful tapas was my favourite. I just wish that the portion was bigger!

All eyes were fixed on the charcoal grilled Sumiyaki Morrawese ($25) right at the moment it was being presented. It was clearly the highlight of the meal - not only was it pleasing to the eyes, the aromatic bbq smell of the meat grilled to perfection left many craving for more!

The assorted grilled skewers consisted on grilled squid, meatballs, asparagus, chicken wings and tomatoes on a stick.

The colourful Wagyu Yasai Stick ($24) will catch your attention for sure. Also charcoal grilled, it is served with Motobu Wagyu and assorted veggies on a skewer. I'd probably appreciate it better if the beef was slightly more done!

Moving on to the mains, the Sunny Side-Up Hamburg ($18) is a dish that consists of hand-ground Wagyu beef patty top with sunny side-up egg and red wine sauce. There was some egg porn going on as the runny egg yolk oozed onto the beef patty when being cut! *.* While I am not a fan of minced beef, I did enjoy the burst of overflowing juiciness in my mouth. Paired up with the red wine sauce? Perfecto!

The Wagyu Houba Misayaki ($28) was decent charcoal grilled Motobu Wagyu Steak with miso on houba leaf. The meat, though medium-rare, was nicely done. But I say decent because the use of miso was overly generous, resulting in the meat to be too salty for my liking. Such a waste! Nevertheless, I'd probably be back for this dish another time - but will request for the use of miso to be cut down.

My favourite Wagyu and Foie Gras ($14.80) is the kind of meat that melts in your mouth! Using braised Motobu Wagyu beef tendon with foie gras in miso, I thought that the dish would have tasted better when served with rice instead.

You could taste the freshness of the ocean with the last main dish - Angel's Hair Pasta ($18.80). Another favourite of mine, cold angel's hair pasta was served with sea urchin and salmon roe. I loved it for its simplicity and well-matched flavours.

singapore blogger en grill and bar entertainer app
This sweet tooth's favourite part of the meal was definitely the dessert!

A delight was the popular Yuzu Cheesecake ($7.80). Light cheesecake was infused with Japanese yuzu, a distinctive flavour that left me wanting more.

The meal ended on a sweet note with the well-paleted Matcha Tiramisu ($7.80). This captivating dessert is En's own green tea tiramisu. Anything matcha is good! Of course, it was topped with its best match, red bean.

-----

That's it, I'm returning to En Grill & Bar for sure! If you're looking for somewhere to unwind with your friends through the night, this might be the place you're looking for. I had nothing to complain about the ambiance - you can choose from indoor or outdoor seatings. There's also an open glass kitchen where you can peep at the hardworking chefs at work. Need I mention how good the service was? And for such high-quality food, the price was unbelievably decent.

Other than F&B deals, Entertainer Singapore includes spas, activities, attractions and more! This money-saving app retails at S$60 and is available for purchase at www.theentertainerasia.com.

I'll be honest with you - the price gave me a shock at first. But after thinking through, it was actually quite worth the price tag - the amount can be easily claimed back in 1 meal! And if you're still not convinced about spending money on the free app yet, I recommend you download and give the trial membership a go first.

Psst... Don't say I didn't share: use the promo code "2015ALVIN" for a 10% discount upon checkout!

My birthday was last Saturday, the 5th of September! :D *pops champagne* Once again, a big THANK YOU to all the well wishes I'd received. < 3

Decided not to stray too far away from Singapore this year, and am pleased that things turned out well for me! I am grateful for the mini celebrations with my family (can I just give my mum a shoutout for being extra awesome) and friends; thrilled for more coming up this month. I love September!

Another year older, another year wiser. Another year I'm even more thankful for all that I have. Another year I survived the ups and downs of life. Another year that left me re-evaluating friendships which left me both surprised and disappointed. Long story and I probably thought too much into it, but whether sincere or just a facade, I'll positively work harder on creating stronger relationship connections with genuine people, and be more wary of those who are just... There.

While I didn't snap EVERYTHING, here are a bunch of photos that I took over the weekend! I hope you feel my joy looking at the picture spam! ^_^

Are you a fan of McDonald's Ebi Burger like me? *hands up legs up*

mcdonalds blog singapore ebi kase cereal burger sweet potato fries mango chill
Well, we're in for something better and I can't contain my excitement to share this piece of news with y'all any longer!

Come 3 September, McDonald's will introduce their NEW Cereal Ebi Burger on the menu, but for a limited time only. In case you aren't aware, ebi means prawn in Japanese. I was one of the first few lucky ones in Singapore to have sunk my teeth into the new delight at McDonald's special preview event.

McDonald's, you're doing it right.

I preferred the new Cereal Ebi Burger as compared to their previous one. This fusion hit the right notes for me. Firstly, the flower-shaped buns were topped with white sesame and chive, which was a clear distinction from their regular buns. While the patty with whole and plump shrimps remained more or less similar, there was more crunch with the cereal coating.

In addition, I think Singaporeans will love their shrimp paste flavoured mayo sauce with a manageable spicy kick.

McDonald's also welcomed the new Sweet Potato Fries addition to their sides.

Man, were they ADDICTIVE! It's about time this famous street snack in Taiwan appeared on their menu. The sweet potato fries looked exactly like their famous french fries - thin and long. Unlike other sweet potato fries that I've had, these were crispy and didn't turn soggy as quick. I loved the taste of sweet and salty coming together. #WeirdTasteBuds

Dear McDonald's, please make these fries a regular!

For a full Ebi-Kase experience, I recommend you grab their Cereal Ebi Special. The set includes a Single Cereal Ebi, Coca-Cola (S) and Sweet Potato Fries (M) for $7.45. For a healthier meal, you have the option to swap your side for a corn cup, free-of-charge. Alternatively, you can top up $1.20 for Garden Side Salad.

For people in the Sweet Tooth Club like myself, don't worry, McDonald's didn't leave us out.

The Honeydew McFlurry ($2.90) will deliver a sweet ending to your meal. I admit, there was a slight difference from how it looked on the brochure VS in real life... To add on, the taste was too sweet for my liking. Nevertheless, I enjoyed the accompanying abundance of crunch bits with every mouthful of ice cream.

Thanks to McDonald's, I'm giving away Sweet Potato Fries (M) + Honeydew McFlurry vouchers to...
