It's that time of the month again - and I mean an update on my current rainbow hair colour!

This time, colour picking at CLEO Hair was swift and completed in less than 15 minutes. My hairstylist Ryo and I agreed in a heartbeat to attempt the granny gray colour that's been painted on countless of manes. The popularity of the colour was insane, sweeping the entire world - and my news feed - by storm (pun intended)!

...We didn't go for gray-gray exactly, though. I was browsing through photo galleries online when I chanced upon pictures of this girl's hair with an interesting gray mixed with subtle blue colour. Ryo tried his hands at replicating something similar, but of course, experimented and added on his own touch.

The final result looked like a huge splash of different colours, doesn't it? In actual fact, the same blue-ash dye was left on for different timings! Styling was achieved through a temporary curling iron.

I had to bleach my hair twice to achieve the bright and pearl-like effect. For references, here's my previous hair colour condition:

If you want to achieve the blue ash colour from black hair, you'll have to bleach at least three times for it. However, that will depend on your hair condition as well. I am lucky for my hair is naturally strong enough to withstand the powerful chemicals!

I spy a huge increase of such crazy coloured hair lately. Have you gone this wild before, or do you dare to? Leave me a comment to let me know! :)

Since I was new to the Good Hong Kong Serviced Apartments, someone from the management kindly offered to bring me around since she was available and wanted me to familiarize myself with the place. The kind hospitality was a pleasant surprise!

She suggested bringing me to another location of their many apartments to pop by for a look. It was also in the Causeway Bay vicinity, just down the road from the apartment I’m staying, along Paterson Street. I was told that they often hold gatherings for their guests there.

It was love at first sight. This place is totally Tumblr-worthy!

I learnt that this gathering-apartments place was also designed and decorated by designer Boll Chow of Giant Treasure Hong Kong. The way he creatively created a fusion of old with new provided an aesthetic feast for my eyes!

I appreciated the random pop of colours with every turn that I made. I don’t know how Boll did it, but the colourful splash wasn’t overly done. ;)

Interesting fact: rather obviously, Boll’s love for antique collection is evident in his designs. In fact, he often brings in some from his personal collection to complete the decorations aspect for clients. I was told that some of the chairs hold a history so dated back, they are even older than my grandparents!

You can also soak in the bustle of the city while on the balcony outside. This is the perfect place to people-watch and let time tick by. I can imagine myself here with a friend talking through the night, under the starry sky.

While it is not the most prominent place ever and can be rather difficult to locate on the first try, this flight of stairs serves a guide!

It was difficult to miss this hot couple living right next door.

Meet Pace, 39, and Lam, 24, my good-looking neighbours whom I’d bumped into during my stay at the Good Hong Kong Serviced Apartments in Hong Kong. Met and fell in love in Portugal, the adventurous Scottish and Brazilian couldn’t stop the flow of interesting stories from pouring out of their mouths! It was as if we were friends who hadn’t met for a long time.

The newlyweds had travelled extensively prior to their arrival due to Lam’s job as a model. While they were initially headed for Malaysia, a last minute change of plans brought the loving couple here.

Without having a clue of how to speak in the Cantonese language, Pace and Lam had a difficult time finding a place to settle down at first. Prior to arriving at Good HK, they had their fair share of staying in horror apartments. Think cramped, dirty and almost unlivable rooms. While they were on the verge of giving up, an email from the people at Good HK came to the rescue, and they liked what they saw in the pictures. After making a trip down to one of the Wan Chai apartments to take a look, they were sold.

Pace and Lam decided to relocate to the current Causeway Bay apartment shortly after the move. From the excitement in their eyes, you could tell that they really appreciated the cleaner environment and good location – centralized and convenient, but quiet along the streets. The big windows were an added bonus!

Despite the apartment being a tad concise, they thought it was the best feature because cleaning became much easier. It had also made them realize how much space they actually need.

To add on, the park that they spend most of their time at was just nearby. Their favourite activity is fitness. Needless to say, their every day is spent working out and speaking to people in the park.

When asked to describe Good Hong Kong in one word,

Pace: “Homely”.
Lam: “Cozy”.

The couple explained that since they’re used to travelling and staying at a lot of places that had been really bad. It’s like, you that know you’ve got to go back there, but you never really call it home. You wait to go to the next place.

But ever since their stay at Good Hong Kong, they unconsciously tell each other that they can’t wait to get back home.

I was surprised at the good friendships they’d forged with the management of Good HK. In fact, they’d clicked so well that some of them were even witnesses at their wedding! Now that they’d exchanged their vows in Hong Kong, it holds an even more special place in their hearts.

Having stayed in Hong Kong for 3 months, Pace and Lam have plans of heading to Shanghai next. Although they see themselves as global citizens, the couple are looking to buy a piece of land to build a place they can call their own soon. They want to take the best of what they’ve learnt and spread it through food and teaching people the best skills from each culture.

But right now, they’re happier than ever from where they are.

I got to bunk in with one my friends at Good Hong Kong Serviced Apartments for a couple of days! I thought I needed to share this place because it was one of the more comfortable stays during my Hong Kong trip. Furthermore, plenty of you frequent Hong Kong for long periods! So yeappp, this’ one of my recommendations. #DontSayNeverShare

My first impression of the place was the impressive blend of Western and Oriental elements in the design. It gave me the Mini Hotel vibe, and I was spot on – they indeed share the same designer! Interesting. I don’t know how to properly describe the place in words because I won’t do it justice; you have to see it for yourself!

There are several Good Hong Kong Serviced Apartments scattered around Hong Kong actually. The one I stayed at was along Kai Chiu Road, which is strategically located in the heart of the city. Tracking the place down was a breeze since it was directly opposite the popular Hysan Place.

Despite its buzzing surrounding, I got my much-needed privacy as noise was never an issue and the curtains were mostly kept closed. I only peeked outside of the windows before I slept/after I woke up to people watch with a glass of warm tea in my hands.

With several room designs available as seen on their website (http://www.goodhk.net), I lucked on this minimalist one! I thought the designer made use of the space pretty well. There was ample room for all my baggage and to move around.

Checking in, you will receive this piece of paper to crosscheck that the items listed were in place before and after you check out.

There was even a kitchenette area at the corner of the room. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that it stocked the basic cooking equipments!

You can even have a steamboat party in the comforts of your room!

Depending on the size of your room, the monthly rate of the rooms at Good Hong Kong Serviced Apartments ranges between HK$10,000 to HK$18,000. Most of them are studio rooms with a double bed.

The Room Package Includes:

- Electricity, Water and Management Fee
- Complimentary Broadband / Internet Service (Wi-Fi)
- Once A Week Maid Service (Except on Sunday & Public Holidays)

One of my go-to aesthetic clinics is Dr Benjamin Yim’s Clinical Aesthetics & Laser Centre! They hit a new milestone this year - thanks to Dr Ben and Gotideas, I was present at their { Our Brand. Our Story. Celebrating its 15th Anniversary! } celebration event at Hard Rock Café.

Happy Birthday! ^_^V * pop champagne blows candles *

Many of you aren’t aware yet, but I underwent a botox procedure with Dr Yim previously; will share that in another post and I can’t contain my excitement!

Established since 2000, the facility has bloomed into an established practice throughout the years. The main thrust behind the center's successes lies in its capacity to furnish clients with the ideal combination of quality services and premium products from around the globe. It has earned the admiration of numerous individuals inside of the business, and is regarded to be a standout with the best-equipped facilities in the region.

During the event, Dr Ben discussed and gave us his insights on concerning issues that we all face – like how our skin changes with age, and how aesthetic procedures like botox and fillers come in to help us maintain youthfulness and enhance our natural beauty, for example.

dr benjamin yim clinical aesthetics laser centre singapore blogger
With more than a decade of experience under his belt, Dr Ben spoke of many logical findings, but this particular one took the cake. I quote:

Our skin goes through the aging process with time and through cumulated sun-damage and stresses in life. It is therefore essential for us to have a basic daily skin care routine to keep our skin looking the best it can. Skincare today is ‘fortified’ with therapeutic ingredients like: anti-oxidants, growth factor proteins, vitamin A, UV blockers and skin lighteners. The approach is scientific and evidenced-based.

Guests who graced the event (like myself) had the exclusive opportunity to witness the before and after effects of botox and fillers through patient models.

The event also introduced Jane Iredale The Skin Care Makeup, one of the brands you can try and purchase at their clinic. The cosmetics are safe to be applied on after aesthetic procedures.

I’d heard of the brand before and have been dying to give it a go!

dr benjamin yim clinical aesthetics laser centre singapore blogger
Ms Priscilla Goh, a makeup trainer representative from Jane Iredale The Skin Care Makeup educated us on the wide range of skin care makeup that the brand offers. To be honest, I only knew about their mineral foundation prior to her presentation! I walked out of the event equipped with the knowledge of the other product offerings and their benefits.

dr benjamin yim clinical aesthetics laser centre singapore blogger
Oh yes, I HAVE to show you guys this water demonstration that left everyone squealing in amazement! This is Jane Iredale’s Pressed Mineral Powder that’s highly water resistant. It stays intact even when you drown it down a bowl of water. Power lah, this powder! *.*

Did you know that this powder is also one of the many Jane Iredale products that earned the Skin Cancer Foundation’s Seal of Recommendation!? Without any hesitation, I purchased one in my shade after the event and never looked back since. I also fell in love with their highly-raved POMMIST Hydration Spray and PureMoist Lipstick!

Best. Investment. Ever.

The event was hugely successful also thanks to their sponsors who brought foodporn to us:

I had a ball of a time with the fun-going bunch of ladies. While every moment was a highlight, my favourite was probably the lucky draw because I was one of the biggest winners. :P

Absolutely can’t wait to be back at Dr Ben’s Clinic for more treatments!
